BOMBER COMMAND MEMORIAL UNVEILING
Cadets from 3 SQN participated in the unveiling of the Bomber Command Memorial at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on 1 March 2009.
F/S Josh Sanders read the Ode in front of the 200+ guests, including the Chief of the Air Force.
The Squadron received a personal message from the Chief of Air Force thanking us for our participation. That email is reproduced below:

Kirsten,

I wanted to acknowledge you and your Squadron's support for the Bomber Command Memorial event a few weeks ago. I thought it was a moving ceremony and very well orchestrated. Your Cadets and officers played a crucial part in the smooth operation and I wish to acknowledge them all for their dress, bearing, and friendly engagement with everyone throughout the event.

Well done 3 Squadron !!

Yours sincerely,

Graham Lintott
Air Vice-Marshal
Chief of Air Force

Welcome to the home of the Air Training Corps.

3 Squadron is thriving! Each year our cadets go FLYING, hiking, gliding, camping, rifle shooting, marching, collecting on Poppy Day and some even become international youth ambassadors overseas.

Cadets are given the chance to learn to fly, lead expeditions, tour foreign countries, become target shooting marksman, learn about aviation and compete in Commonwealth competitions.  This is only a small list of the activities and opportunities for an enviable social life with many new friends.

Check out the photos on this page and on our “Photo” page.  Does this look like your sort of thing?

Even James Bond thought so!  Visit our list of Famous Ex ATC Cadets from around the world and see who else went to ATC.
